A Life-Changing Conversation: Expert Insights from Pariya Kashfi
Janed Ardor is so excited to chat with Pariya Kashfi, Ph.D., Sweden’s first Life Design Coach! With 20+ years in tech and design, she helps high-achieving women build confidence and reach their full potential through her unique Life Design Coaching programs and seminars.
When we asked about her dream she said:
“On a broader scale, My dream is to empower more ambitious women to create impact, own their voice, and step into leadership—whether as leaders of teams, thought leaders, change-makers, experts in their fields, entrepreneurs, or voices in the boardroom. And true leadership starts from within“
1. Self-Care Through Lingerie
To start, we’d love to ask—do you think investing in quality lingerie is a form of self-care? How do you feel this choice influences body image and self-esteem?
Pariya Kashfi: Absolutely! One of the key pillars in my Life Design framework is Intentional Environment Design, which is about shaping your surroundings—physical, digital, and social—to support your growth toward your ideal self. I always encourage my clients to design their environment not for who they are today, but for the person they aspire to become.
Lingerie, even though unseen by the world, is a deeply personal expression of self-worth. When you choose something beautiful just for yourself, you send a powerful message: I am worthy of love and care, regardless of external validation.
2. Overcoming Societal Pressures
Next, we want to touch on something that so many women struggle with in today’s world—the pressure of societal standards. Many women feel the weight of societal expectations when choosing what to wear. What advice would you give to women who feel pressured to dress according to societal expectations rather than their own preferences?
Pariya Kashfi: "This question truly resonates with me. I was born and raised in a culture where women’s choices—including something as personal as clothing and makeup—were heavily restricted. By the time I was just eight years old, I was already being told what I could and couldn’t wear. The message was clear: my self-expression was not my own.
Women, more than anyone else, are constantly conditioned to fit into predefined molds—not just in how we dress, but in how we behave, what we pursue, and how much space we take up in the world. We’re taught, often from childhood, to seek approval, avoid standing out, and prioritize how others perceive us over how we feel.
But through my journey, I’ve learned something life-changing—if I want to live as my fullest, most authentic self, I have to start saying ‘no’ to external expectations. And when you look closely, that ‘no’ is a powerful ‘yes’ to yourself. A learning that I’m proud to pass on to other ambitious women through coaching.
This is why I became a Life Design coach for ambitious women. True transformation starts with deep self-awareness—knowing your values, needs, and aspirations beyond societal conditioning. When you gain that clarity, you design your life—and your self-expression—for yourself, not others. And remember, this choice isn’t just about you. When one woman breaks free from expectations, she inspires others to do the same. Every act of self-expression challenges outdated norms, creating space for more women to live freely. When women are empowered, they drive creativity, strength, and progress in society.
So to any woman struggling with external pressure: your confidence is in your choices. Dress in a way that makes you feel powerful, aligned, and alive. You’re not just reclaiming a piece of yourself - You’re reshaping the world for the next generation of women."
3. The Role of Comfort
Now, let’s take a deeper look at how something as simple as comfort can greatly impact our sense of self. How does the comfort factor in lingerie contribute to a positive body image, and why is it essential for overall self-confidence?
Pariya Kashfi: "Think about it this way: If you are constantly putting yourself in discomfort—whether it’s through what you wear, how you present yourself, or the way you move through life—what message are you sending to your brain? That your comfort doesn’t matter? That you are not worthy of ease? That someone else’s expectations hold more weight than your own needs?
Think about how you feel when you wear your favorite piece of lingerie—whether it’s a soft, cozy bra or a delicate lace set. That little moment of comfort is like saying to yourself, 'I deserve to feel good’."

4. Transformative Experiences
Sometimes, a change in our wardrobe can lead to a real transformation in how we see ourselves. Can you share a story where embracing your unique style led to a significant positive change in your life or your customer's life?
Pariya Kashfi: "So interesting you brought that up! Two of my favorite Life Design coaching tools are Persona Design (a concept from my 20+ years in design) and Visualization.
Big companies like Apple, Google, and Amazon use ‘Personas’ (a detailed profile of their ideal customer) to stay focused on their goals and be able to filter out the noise and distractions.
This clarity is one of the reasons their products are so successful—and I apply the same principles in Life Design to help my clients get clear on their ideal selves in terms of appearance, mindset and behavior.
For appearance, for instance, we get clear on:
🖤 How does the most confident, powerful self dress?
🖤 What does she wear when she feels her absolute best?
🖤 How does she show up in the world?
Once we define this ideal persona, we use mental rehearsal (or visualization) to practice stepping into that identity. This is the same technique used by elite athletes and Olympians like Serena Williams—they don’t just train their bodies, they train their minds to see themselves as winners before they even step onto the court.
These tools are so simple yet so powerful. When my clients start dressing as their ideal selves, something shifts. Their posture changes. Their energy transforms."
